About The Artwork
This original painting comes ready to hang. The painting is signed on the front by the artist and a Certificate of Authenticity is supplied on purchase to ensure evidence of provenance.
Painted en plein air (outside) in the wine-country of Orange NSW. This series marks a happy return to the familiar location of the artist’s good friend’s vineyard. Neil visited in the winter of 2023, riding the 5 hour journey on his Royal Enfield motorbike over the Great Dividing Range and through the plains of the Central West. Strapped his back he carried 20 timber boards on which to paint. An old black leather bag secured to the back of his bike contained his paints and brushes.
Unified by a common colour palette, the artist started each painting with a vibrant coral ground, applying the pinky-orange before anything else. The result is a suite of glowing landscapes, lit from within and trembling. Specks of coral appear on the edges of trees and underpinning blue skies that merge to become an other-worldly lilac.
